Small Business Saturday

The Holidays are coming – the Marketing campaign has started, the lights are being strung as we speak. This year take part in Small Business Saturday, an idea that pushes some business to the Mom-and-Pop shops in your local area. For every $25 spent at a small business, AMEX will reimburse their card user $25. Not a bad deal.

Car of the Year

In a surprising twist, Honda beat out diesel and electric cars to be named the 2012 Green Car of the Year by the editors of the Green Car Journal. It beat out the likes of the Ford Focus Electric and Volkswagen Passat TDI diesel. Looking for a new car or to replace some auto supply parts, seems like Honda is your best bet.

Business is funny. Analyze, crunch numbers, test markets all you want. Sometimes a winner is just a winner. Take the McRib sandwich from McDonald’s. Was anyone really asking for boneless ribs from a fast food chain? No. But keep the distribution limited releasing every few years and now you have yourself a cult following. Need restaurant funding, contact United Capital Source today.

Small Business Lending Fund

Were you able to get a loan from the Small Business Lending Fund? We didn’t think so. The program aimed at helping small businesses get their hands on cash ended this week — with a thud. The news comes as small business owners complain that they cannot grow or hire because they lack access to credit. Some say the program went bust because banks were reluctant to lend to the sector because of the lack of creditworthy candidates. Trouble getting a loan – call United Capital Source today at 855-WE-FUND-U.

More Debit Fees?

So now the banks are going to charge us for using our debit cards? Many banks, including Bank of America, plan to charge customers a $5 monthly fee for access to their own cash. Does it make more sense to start using our credit cards again? Just when society has started paying down credit debt, the banks are going to push us back to swiping credit cards. Soon we will need to take loans out to pay the banks back. Sheesh!

Bank of America joins banks charging monthly debit card fees.
